Avenues of Opportunity
For over a century, settlement houses have been an integral thread in the fabric of the Rochester community. Born of a need for employment, housing, language, education, spiritual, and family support within our city’s diverse immigrant populations, these houses offered neighborhood-based human services to help ease their transition to the area.
Thanks to your generous monetary and volunteer support, today, our three Settlement Houses have evolved with the ever-changing needs of our community. Providing an even greater continuum of support and resources—what we call avenues of opportunity—our youth, families, and seniors, receive the help they need right in the neighborhoods where they live, work, worship and play.
The Settlement Houses of Rochester Foundation will be the catalyst for transformation in Rochester’s most challenged neighborhoods… reducing poverty, increasing job opportunities and strengthening families. Read more…
